Tuesday, January 20, 2009 the day the first African American President of the United States of America is to be sworn into office. An historic day that will be in the history books from now to eternity. As a Black woman I share in the proudness of the moment that Dr. Martin Luther King said "Free at Last; Free at Last..." and I am elated to know that dreams, prayers, success does come to those who work hard while they wait. I feel free today more than ever, I feel hope for my grandchildren that they can really be what ever they work to be with no outside barriers saying "no, you can't do that."

I also share in the anticipation and anxiety of the first African American Male President of the USA. Deep inside of my brain there are fears from the past and these fears keep me in prayer. Today, I am praying for all those who are traveling to the nations capital to be a part of this historic day. I am praying for the safety of all of our neighbors, friends, and family that are traveling that they arrive safely and are kept from harms way. I am praying for our President and his family, that all goes smoothly with no incident. I am praying that the change we see is and continues to be a positive one for our country and our world.

Sincerely,
Pauline Dailey
